Interested in enrolling at RGV College? Here's some important information for you!

Our Admissions department is committed to helping you achieve your dreams, guiding you through each step of the enrollment process and answering any questions you may have along the way. The first step in the enrollment process is to schedule an interview with an Admissions Representative. This will give you the opportunity to ask us any questions you may have and, most importantly, determine whether RGV College is the right fit for you. If you have any questions that come to mind from scheduling to curriculum to financial aid – just ask us! We want you to make an informed decision when it comes to one of the most important choices in your life. Throughout the Admissions section of this site, we've tried to give you a thorough overview of the admissions process at RGV College, but we understand that everyone's situation is different.   • Original Texas unexpired issued Driver's License or ID*^
  • Original Social Security Card*^
  • Copy of High School Diploma/GED or Official High School Transcript (if Grad date is within 3 years)*^.
  • Unofficial/Official Technical School or College Transcript (if applicable) *
  • Recommended to be a CNA, Medical Assistant, Surgical Tech., EMT, PT, PCT, or Paramedic.
  • Letter of Recommendation (one) on company letterhead)*
  • Entrance Exam TEAS Test (by Appointment)^
    •$80.00 to be pre-paid prior to the exam and must present picture ID on exam day.
    •Math, English, Science & Reading
    •Testing: M-F 1:00p.m., Saturday 8:00a.m.
    •Minimal score must be obtained: Overall 54%
    •Study Guide available for $35.00
  • Essay: 1 1/2 pages (150-200 words) ^

  • A high school Diploma or G.E.D. certification is required for entrance into the Pharmacy Technician Program.
  • All students must register with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee, and within two years register as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • All students must have a criminal background check done, including fingerprints and never been convicted of felony prior to sitting in for PTCB exams.
  • All students must pass the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s National Certification Examination in order to register as a Pharmacy Technician
  • All students must have a social security number according to the Texas State Board of Pharmacy

  • Submit a completed application for admission to RGV College during the applicaiton period
  • Have a High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Send official transcripts of completed pre-requisites to RGV College attention to The Program Director
  • Submit a completed PTA Program Application for admission to the Physical Therapist Assistant Program
  • Complete Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS), Version V and submit score with a minimum composite score of 60%. (Accepted scores must be within 2 years of application date)
    • Entrance Exam TEAS Test (by Appointment)
    • Minimal score must be obtained: Overall 60%
    • Study Guide available for $35.00
  • Interview with faculty**
    ** Only the top 25-30 students will be set up for interviews based on the completion of the admissions requirements and point system as indicated. This help determine the final applicants who will be accepted into the program. We can accept up to 16 applicants. Students that meet admission requirements who are not accepted will be placed on an alternates list.
  • Please submit completed application packets to the Physical Therapist Assistant Program office by November 19, 2022!
    It is strongly recommended that students complete as many of the general education core courses as possible prior to applying to the PTA Program. Because admission to the program is extremely competitive and based on a point system, the students who will be more likely to be accepted are those that score highest on admissions criteria including the early completion of general education core classes.

Additional Requirements for Admission

When completing the application, the applicant will be required to submit the following documents:
  • General Education Courses strongly recommended
  • Physical examination from US physician, Immunizations, CPR and Background check (fees may apply). Speak with an admissions representative for more information.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination is not required at this time for admission, however, many area hospitals, clinics and potential clinical affiliation sites do require COVID-19 vaccination.
